Mr. Smith receiving a grant from KASC

Congratulations to Zach Smith, Counselor at Pulaski Elementary School.  He was awarded a Social Emotional Learning grant from the KY Association of Schools Counselors.  Grants were awarded for the purpose of creating calming and self-regulation areas within the school building for students to have access to. Mr. Smith applied for this competitive grant with the idea to create a "mobile" calming unit where students have access throughout the school day without having to come to the front office. This space will have books and resources for learning self-regulation strategies as well as sensory items that are useful in grounding techniques and coping skills.

Sign up for the Affordable Connectivity Program to save money

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)  provides a discount on monthly bills for qualifying households.  Recipients may receive up to $30/month discount on broadband service and associated equipment rental and a one-time discount for the purchase of a laptop, tablet or desktop computer.  Your household qualifies for this benefit if your service provider participates and if you have a Pulaski County Schools student in your home because our school system participates in USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) providing all students with free meals at school.  You can visit the ACP website to apply.

The system may request documentation to support your application.  This documentation is a letter from the school certifying that the child is enrolled in Pulaski County Schools and receives benefits as part of the CEP program.  If you need this letter, contact your child's school directly to request it.

A sign that says Thank You!

We have a HUGE THANK YOU to our community for the support and encouragement of our local public school teachers.  All of Pulaski County School District's faculty kicked off this school year with a day-long mini conference hosted at Southwestern High School.  More than 625 teachers and principals gathered to learn and prepare for the coming school year.  To make this event A LOT more fun and exciting, a host of local businesses and community members donated gifts for door prizes that were given at the closing session of the teacher workday.  On behalf of our teachers, principals, and administrators, THANK YOU so much for making us feel supported and appreciated!!!

School bus with stop sign

Buses will begin to roll for the 2023-2024 school year on August 10 traveling over 7500 miles a day

School bus safety is a team effort!  With as many buses traveling thousands of miles, motorists are asked to be especially cautious during morning and afternoon route times.  Running school bus stop signs, passing buses, or failing to yield to buses creates a great danger to children who are loading and unloading.  Ignoring a bus stop sign or accidentally running a stop sign due to carelessness could literally mean life and death to a child.  Help us keep your child safe by talking to your child about bus safety rules.  School buses do not travel every road, but a pick-up location is close.   For more information, bus schedules,  school boundary zones, or interested in becoming a school bus driver contact the Pulaski County School System at 606-679-1123 and ask for Transportation.
