Basic STLP Checklist
The Pulaski Elementary School
"Student Technology Leadership Program " encourages all students to become
leaders in technology. The printable list below will give students an idea of
what they should work for while attending PES. To receive PES STLP
certification, students may finish the requirements on this page or directly
join the media team that works in collaboration with the computer
lab.

__ Basic Concepts
__
Components, data storage, memory, impact of everyday life, etc.__ Display proper use of mouse (left & right "clicks").
__ Open paintbrush.

_ Use various brushes and tools while drawing.__ Use "edit undo" and "image clear" techniques.
__ Use various colors (also custom colors).
__ Use "select tools" for moving or Save as a .bmp file.
__ Place drawing on Word Document.
__ Open word
(Need help? ... See Directions Here)__ Type and be able to change font style and color, bold, italics, etc.
__ Split page into two columns.
__ Use thesaurus and spell check.
__ Copy a paragraph from Internet and place in word. Edit the paragraph.
__ Copy picture from the web and paste into word file. Alter picture.
__ Save a document and be able to return later for updates.
__ Change line spacing.
__ Change page view (ex: normal or print view)
__ Move tabs.
__ Be able to add Bullets or Numbering.
__ Open Internet
__ Type in a URL to a search engine. Explain web address parts.
__ Add, delete bookmarks
__ Search for a given topic (eg. Social Studies).
__ Copy another paragraph and put it in another file.
__ Use webmail(email).
__ Copy a graphic file (.jpg or .gif) picture and paste it in another file.
__ Open PowerPoint
__ Make Three Slides (Use Three Different Backgrounds).
__ Add pictures and words to each.
__ Save your presentation.
__ Show a presentation using multi-media projector.
__Windows Moviemaker
__ Be able to make a movie file and send it.
__ Excel
__ Be able to enter data in a grid
__ Be able to make a graph from the data
__ Publisher
__ Be able to make a variety of publications
Miscellaneous
__ Know your password & username to log in.
__ Save various files on disk or hard drive from any location.
__ Type a minimal of 15 words per minute.
__ Restart computer after lock up.
__ Be able to use Successmaker Math login
__ Use email
__ Get a written letter of recommendation from your teacher to allow you to (when possible) go to other classes as a STLP. In the teacher's opinion, your behavior and other grades must be acceptable.
* After meeting these requirements in front of an STLP Student or Instructor, you will receive a certificate of completion and recognition in front of the school.
