MUSIC NOTES

The KMEA Festival

When we first got on the bus, we had water, crackers, and rice crispie treats. Soon after we were there. We watched a few people perform. Then we had to go up and we sang "Enla feria de San Juan," "Peace Round," and "All Through the Night." We received 3 distinquished ratings! There were 61 students.

On the way back it was boring, but there was a funny part. I was sitting with Elizabeth. She saw me put a little bit of water in my lid. So she poured hers and here comes the funny part. She spilled a whole lot until I said STOP. So I laughed al ot and couldn't hardly stop. But we finally made it and Mrs. Morris announced on the speaker our rating.

Dear Trouble,

Trouble, just because your so called sister says it doesn't mean it's alright for you to do it.

RESEARCH PROJECT

By Heather V

I researched about frogs; a Burrowing Frog, a Red-Eyed-Leaf-Frog and a Leopard Diving Frog.

Burrowing Frog

This frog's short, powerful legs are well built for digging. It burrows into the colder soil of it's South Australian desert habitat to wait out the unpleasantness of extreme heat, descending to a state of stupor, much like hibernation. Other kinds burrow to conceal themselves or to ambush prey. Many have sharp snouts to aid them in their digging.

Red-Eyed-Leaf-Frog

This frog is one of the many species of the rain forest tree frogs that have adhesive toe pads. This modification of the toes of the front and hind legs allows these small frogs to adhere to the undersides of leaves and to crawl up the vertical surfaces of tree trunks and other surfaces with relative ease.

Leopard Diving Frog

The fully webbed feet of the Leopard frog are adapted for an aquatic existence. Frogs have the ability to move quickly whether on land or underwater. The amphibians use their powerful legs to kick when swimming and to leap forward when on land.
